1) Define the basic concepts of art and aesthetics.
2) Explain the process of separation of art and craft and the formation process of the system of fine arts.
3) İnterpret the relationship between the work of art and the artist.
4) Explain the relationship between art, historical, social and economic structure.
5) Explain the basic debates about the culture industry.

COURSE DEFINITIONIn this course, students learn how to organize the artistic staff in accordance with artistic regulation principles, and how to look, see and distinguish as well. Moreover, specific studies are being conducted to enable the use and development of these competencies. It is aimed, through visual information, to enable the individual to develop aesthetic perception by looking critically first at himself and then at his environment, and to do composition research that improves the problem-solving ability with original formatting. At the end of this course it is aimed to give students the ability to speak and analyze at a level that can make criticisms and comparisons about aesthetic theories.

3rd Week Art work, art-craft relationship, social change and changing position of artisan-artist
4th Week Construction of art and fine arts category in Renaissance
5th Week Production of cultural content in the capitalist society, cultural industry and consumption, high art and popular culture distinction
6th Week Art-politics relationship and autonomous art discussions
7th Week Aesthetic modernism and art movements
8th Week Midterm
9th Week Aesthetic modernism and art movements

11th Week Social context of art, the relationship between art and daily life
