Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The PhD program in Medical Microbiology consists of at least 240 ECTS consisting of at least 7 (seven) courses and 21 (twenty-one) credits, seminars, proficiency exams, thesis presentation and thesis work. At least 30 ECTS must be taken in one academic semester. The maximum duration to successfully complete the credit courses required for the Ph.D. program is four semesters for those admitted with a master's degree with thesis and six semesters for those admitted with a bachelor's degree. Students who fail to complete their courses successfully or whose GPA is less than 2.70 out of 4 are dismissed from the University. In order for the student to be successful in a course, he / she has to get at least (C +) in the doctorate program as a success grade from that course. Seminar course and thesis work are evaluated with a grade of (Y) or unsuccessful (Z). Grade (P) is given to the students who successfully carry out their thesis studies. Grades (Y), (P), (Z) are not included in the GPA calculations. The Ph.D. program is eight semesters, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are enrolled in, regardless of whether or not they have registered for each semester. The maximum completion period is twelve semesters. |
