6) Use the tehcnics, methods and materials in studies related to history of civilisation.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe aim of the course; is to make the students recieve a vast knowledge that provides them a better understanding of history of world and geological location of their country and achieve intellectual and Professional profeciency.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week What is history? Thinking about the past? Existence of the universe, paleontology and paleoantropology. What is fossil? Existence of the world and geological times Writing: Existence of the world (It is written in the class, not rated)
2nd Week Unwritten records; paleolithic age, mesolithic age, neolithic age and pre.pottery neolithic age and pottery neolithic age, chalcolithic age.Project: The subjects will be hand out for the projects
3rd Week Written records; Sumerian Civilisation and Babylonian Civilization
4th Week Ancient Egypt civilisation; Early Dynasctic Period, Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, New Kingdom and Late Periods.
5th Week Hattians, Hittites.Reading: Seeher, J. "Hititlerin Türkiye Kültür Mirası İçindeki Yeri" Hititler ve Hitit İmparatorluğu. Kunst.und Ausstellungshalle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (Bonn 2002)
6th Week Minoan Civilization and Mycenaean Civilization.Projects oral presantations: The students will be presents their projects from the 6th week
7th Week Ancient Greek Civilization; politic and administrative status; Athens ve Sparta, Colonization

9th Week Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, Thales, Hippocrates, Anaximandras, Anaximenes, Heracleitos, Pythagoras, Anaxagoras, Epicurus and Oclides, Apollonius, Archimedes
10th Week Persian Civilization, Ancient Chinise Civilization, Ancient India (Maurya)
11th Week Roman Empire, social and administrative status.
12th Week Steppe cultures, Byzantine Empire, Great Seljuq Empire. Feodalizm, European Medieval History, Renaissance. St. Augustine, Bede, St. Anselmus, Bacon, Albertus Magnus, Thomas Aquinas, John Duns Scotus, William of Ockham
