Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
GRADE COEFFICIENT A 4.0 A- 3.7 B+ 3.3 B 3.0 B- 2.7 C+ 2.3 C 2.0 F 0.0 The letter grades (E), (P), (T), (Y), and (Z) do not have quality-point equivalents. For a student to be successful in a course, a student should attain a minimumletter grade of (C) in a master's program; a minimum letter grade of (B) in a doctorate program. Students are required to retake the courses that they have failed or take equivalent courses approved by the Institute Administrative Board. The grade (E) is given to students who have failed to complete the required assignments or have failed to take the end of semester examination due to illness or for some other valid reason. The grade (Y) is given to students who are successful in a non-credit course. The grade (P) is given to students who are in the process of writing their thesis. The grade (Z) is given to students who are not successful in a non-credit course or thesis work. The grade (T) is given to students who have transferred from other institutions if these courses have been accepted as equivalents by the Institute. The letter grades (Y), (P), (Z), (T) do not have quality-point equivalents so they are not included in the calculation of grade-point averages.
