Profile of the Programme

Tourism industry is one of the leading sectors of 21st century and indicates continuous development both in the World and Turkey. Tourism industry mainly composed of hotels, food and beverage services and travel related sub sectors. The vast majority of labor employed in tourism industry works in hotel business. Because of the tourism industry's increasing effort to offer consumer-oriented services with high quality, industry mainly the hotels need more qualified labor. So the main purpose of Tourism and Hotel Management Department is to educate and provide this qualified labor according to the industry's requirements. Tourism and Hotel Management Department offers a 4-year Bachelor's Degree program. The curriculum involves both core business courses like economics, accounting, marketing, human recourses management and finance and also tourism industry courses like hotel management, food and beverage production and services, front office, and housekeeping management. All the courses are offered in balance of theory and practice. In 4 years of education, students gain experience by internship programs as they have to fulfill a summer internship for 50 work days and at least 400 hours of one semester long of industrial training in prestigious tourism institutions. These internship programs are good opportunities for our students as they receive job offers during those internships. Our education language is Turkish but intensive foreign language courses are essential part of our program. Starting from the first year students must take vocational English courses and also elective courses like German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese and Arabic are offered.
