COURSE DEFINITION
Basic concepts related to education, basic questions of philosophy and basic philosophies (ontology,
epistemology, axiology, logic), philosophic dimensions of education (education and human nature; education
and society; education and cosmos), criteria of a "good" philosophy (reliability, intesrity, consistency,
productivity), basic philosophies (idealism, realism, pragmatism, existentialism), basic educational approaches
(perennialism, essencialism, progressivizm, re-constructionism, existentialism), philosophical dimensions of
Turkish Educational System, educational philosophy and teacher.
