LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will be able to define basics concepts about multimedia, 2) Will be able to define multimedia instructional messages, 3) Will be able to discuss the cognitive theories related to multimedia learning, 4) Will be able to define the principles of multimedia, 5) Will be able to define the principles of multimedia design, 6) Will be able to create and edit pictures, sounds, video files. 7) Will be able to design educational software according to the multimedia design principles.

COURSE DEFINITION	Introduction of authoring languages used in PC environment, stages of courseware development, consideration of screen and instructional design principles, design, development, evaluation and distribution of multimedia.
COURSE CONTENTS	WEEK TOPICS 1st Week Basic concepts about multimedia, Multimedia learning and its features, Pictures files, designing and editing pictures 2nd Week Multimedia instructional messages, Multimedia principles, Sound files, recording and editing sounds 3rd Week Multimedia principles, Video files, recording and editing videos 4th Week Multimedia principles, Flow charts and storyboards 5th Week Multimedia design principles, Flow charts and storyboards, User interfaces 6th Week Introduction to ActionScript 3.0 (AS3) 7th Week Functions and Event Listeners in AS3 8th Week Mid-term 9th Week Importing sounds and timeline controls in AS3, Importing videos and timeline controls in AS3 10th Week Animation techniques in AS3 11th Week Communication Form - User Login - Tests in AS3 12th Week Pilot application of multimedia software, Data gathering, Application of questionnaire 13th Week Presentation of software evaluation report 14th Week Updating multimedia software
