At the end of this course, the students; 1) Describe learning disabilities, general characteristics of persons with learning disabilities at all developmental levels, and contrast the neurobiological, physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of persons with and without LD; 2) Describe various learning and teaching theories and their impact on basic teaching strategies, specialized instructional techniques, assessment techniques, and attitudes towards persons with handicaps; 3) Define the role and responsibilities of the learning disabilities teacher and his or her interactions with other professionals in the education of students with learning disabilities; 4) Process the parents of learning disabled children and support their contribution to the education

COURSE DEFINITION
The definition of learning disorders, their types, the factors that effect them and identification of these learning disorders. The treatment of the difficulties and disorders in speaking, writing, understanding, the mathematical concepts, social, emotional and motor skills and giving educational support to the children and their families.
