1) will be able to discuss the significance of measurement and evaluation in education and teaching activities.
2) will be able to explain the fundamental concepts related to measurement and evaluation.
3) will be able to prepare measurement tools appropriate to different features of education that can be measured.
4) will be able to apply statistical operation on the results of measurement.

COURSE DEFINITIONPlace and importance of measurement and evaluation in education, basic concepts of measurement and evaluation, characteristics of measurement tools (reliability, validity, usability), measurement tools used in education and their characteristics, traditional measurement tools (exams, short-answered exams, true-false tests, multiple choice tests, matching tests, oral exams and homework), alternative measurement methods (observation, interview, performance assessment, portfolio, research projects, peer evaluation, self-evaluation, attitude scales), basic statistical applications on the results obtained from measurement, evaluation methods.
