At the end of this course, the students; 1) will comprehend discourse analysis and its scope. 2) will be able to define the basic concepts and terms relating to discourse analysis. 3) will identify discourse related problems in translation and find solutions to them in written and spoken language.

COURSE DEFINITION | This course aims to describe what discourse is and to deal with basic concepts and approaches regarding to discourse analysis. In this context, it is aimed to provide students with information about text as a concept, stylistic and functional aspects of communication, discourse conjunctives, certain discourse types, and production, perception and understanding of discourse. |
