LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) will have a good command of necessary knowledge of terminology in the field. 2) will observe applied translation methods for medical translation and be able to improve their skills. 3) will be able generate solutions to the problems that may emerge during the translation process.

COURSE DEFINITION | In this course, translation practices are carried out on texts which require medical terminology and background information. In order to make understanding and producing of texts in medical subjects easy to understand for students, it is aimed to inform them about issues such as human body, medical problems and procedures. This course aims to teach basic anatomy and anatomy-related terminology in Latin, Turkish and English. By analysing different text types (scientific articles, course book, and patient information leaflet etc.), studies and exercises are carried out to develop translation-oriented strategies. |
