LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Students will have learned basic communication skills to communicate with mute and deaf individuals and will know how to act accordingly. 2) Students will have learned basic terminology and grammar in the Turkish sign language ranging from A1 to A2. 3) Students will be able to understand and translate mute and deaf individuals from Turkish sign language to English ranging from A1 to A2.

COURSE DEFINITION | To teach students the foundation of Turkish sign language in Turkey and how it has become an important aspect of linguistics for the Turkish language. To teach students the importance of mute people, how to address them, translate for them and generally have an idea of what to do when communicating with a mute Turkish individual. To be able to translate English to an A1 to B1 Turkish sign language level or the other way around. |
