LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) recognize available technologies, such as translation memories, online resources, glossaries of terms, spelling and grammar checkers, terminology data base.
2) acquire necessary skills to write a research essay (conducting research in the library, on the Internet, developing arguments, finding and using secondary sources etc.)
3) conduct a research project in the field of translation studies.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course introduces students to the main stages in the preparation of a research paper in the field of translation studies. It integrates research skills and techniques (conducting research in the library, on the Internet, and in the field) into the process of writing a scholarly paper which includes formulating questions, developing an argument, and deploying and documenting secondary sources about a suitable topic in translation studies.
