At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will be able to know the functions, importance, organizational structure, job definitions, duties and responsibilities of the housekeeping department in hotels. 2) Will be able to explain the relations and communication ways of housekeeping department with other departments. 3) Will be able to explain recruitment, in- service training, motivation tecniques of housekeeping's employees and explain the concepts of job programme and plan, productivity and performance standards. 4) Will be able to explain the cleaning materials and their utilization areas used in housekeeping department. 5) Will be able to know the techiques and rules of hygienic cleaning and decoration, personal and water hygiene that housekeeping department should obey. 6) Will be able to know the process of budgeting and control. 7) Will be able to explain the probable accidents and their precautions, the methods of providing security of hotel's and consumers' properties. 8) Will be able to know the laundry services and management in housekeeping department.

Housekeeping and its functions; making up rooms; control of rooms' cleanliness; responsibilities of rooms division staff; materials and equipments; handling guests' complaints will be introduced.
