LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will be able to define the main concepts of economics. 2) Will be able to explain micro-macro foundations of economics. 3) Will be able to relate theoretical economic concepts with tourism industry. 4) Will be able to explain supply and demand in tourism by using the theoretical economic framework. 5) Will be able to use the concept of elasticity to understand the pricing of touristic services. 6) Will be able to explain the consumer behavior in tourism industry by using the relevant underlying theories. 7) Will be able to discuss the importance of and contribution of tourism industry in an economy within the national income accounting, balance of payments framework. 8) Will be able to discuss the future of tourism industry by connecting the theoretical framework with the real world conditions.

COURSE DEFINITION | This course is designed to teach the students; tourism demand, tourism supply, economic effects of tourism like; effects of tourism on the balance of payments, the employment effect of tourism, the multiplier effect of tourist spending within the framework of economics and tourism. |
