1) Explains the basic concepts of special education.
2) Knows the characteristics of individuals with special needs
3) Prepares an individualized education plan (IEP).

5) Knows guidance activities for families with special needs

COURSE DEFINITIONIn this course, basic concepts of special education, individuals with special education needs; language and speech impairment; physical disability / chronic illness; multiple insufficiency; emotion / behavior disorder; classification; prevalence and incidence; reasons; screening / diagnostic; team; educational environments; scientifically based applications; the concept of family and the characteristics of families with children with special educational needs; attitudes towards the child and their families in need of special education; services provided to families; It is aimed to provide information on supports and legal rights. In addition, it is aimed to observe children with special needs in special education and rehabilitation centers for inclusive education.
