LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Will analyze the role and effect of communication tools in shaping social memory in different ways in societies.
2) Will be informed about why social events and traumas are remembered/forgotten in different ways and how to come to terms with past on the axis of these differences.
3) Will learn about the power of mass media in the democratization of memory.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe course aims to enable students to associate mass media contents with the emergence of concepts such as social memory, power memory, counter-memory and cultural memory.
