General Information

The graduate program of Public Relations and Publicity is an interdisciplinary program which is augmented by other social and communication sciences. The definition, characteristics, the scope of the sphere of the public relation is changing in parallel with the economical, cultural, social, political and technological transformations around the world. This state makes it obligatory to have a good command of the theoretical and practical issues which have been inextricably intertwined in the public relations field and to be master of the practices range from intrapersonal to interpersonal, from organizational to international communication. Accordingly, the Program aims at theoretically and practically based operationalization of these different levels on the public relations and publicity plane.

The Program offers wide ranges of alternatives to students both for academic and professional purposes. The root idea of the Program is to equip students with the necessary supporting knowledge of the communication discipline and with an appreciation of the transformation in the public relations and publicity. It also aims at creating a milieu that enhances and maximizes their academic and professional potential in parallel with their future prospects.

The terms and conditions of the admission to the Program is determined by Başkent University, the Institute of Social Sciences. Although the program's education language is Turkish, there is an English proficiency obligation. Therefore some courses can be conveyed in English and some use sources in English.

The program is open to graduates, young and mid-career professionals of public and private sectors who want to prosper their academic knowledge and obtain an academic degree in Public Relations.

In order to support efficient and interactive class environment, there are eight classes with computer and TV equipments, one multi-media laboratory and one visual communication laboratory.
