General Information
The main objective of the Elementary Mathematics Education PhD Program is to contribute to Turkish education system, conduct research in mathematics education in order to raise skilled future teachers, and provide opportunities to gain 21st century skills. Besides, the other objectives are to ensure opportunities to maintain the education of thegraduates of the continuing masters program andraise qualified academicians in the field of mathematics education which are in need of the universities.
To complete the Elementary Mathematics Education PhD Program, the students have to succeed in courses of 240 ECTS credits at least (45 ECTS compulsory courses, 60 ECTS elective courses, 15 ECTS Seminar course, and 120 ECTS Thesis courses). After completing the courses, the candidates will be assessed and evaluated in a comprehensive/qualifying exam. Successful candidates should complete an authentic research based dissertation.
