Profile of the Programme

Physiology is a comprehensive department and is divided into many branches. These include physiology, neurophysiology, circulatory physiology, exercise physiology and respiratory physiology etc. The Doctorate degree requires course work and research. Necessary instruments and facilities for this scientific activities are available at the research laboratory of the department.
The Ph.D. program is eight semesters, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are enrolled in, regardless of whether or not they have registered for each semester and the maximum completion period is twelve semesters. In order for the student to be successful in a course, he / she has to get at least (C +) in the doctorate program as a success grade from that course. After completing the seminars and courses in the first four semesters, students have to pass the proficiency exam. Upon successful completion of the proficiency exam, each student and his / her advisor will find a unique research topic and start their thesis studies accordingly. The thesis should be completed within four semesters following the proficiency exam. After the completed thesis is submitted to the Institute of Health Sciences, it must be defended orally in front of a jury of five people, at least two from outside the university.
