Key Learning Outcomes

  • uses the knowledge and skills gained during pharmacy education in all the areas of application of the profession in accordance with the existing laws and legislation and within the framework of ethical rules and professional core values.
  • serves the community as a pharmacist adhering to the principles of Atatürk and using Turkish language well
  • uses the concepts and applications of medical and health sciences in the field of pharmacy by combining them with the pharmacy profession.
  • gains the knowledge of anatomy, immunology, physiology, physiopathology and biochemistry of biological systems. Knows the basic concepts about diseases affecting health and their treatments.
  • works with the relevant legal authorities, professional organizations, the pharmaceutical industry and other stakeholders on health-related issues in order to improve the health and quality of life of the community.
  • has the knowledge and application skills on basic principles in the design and development of new drug molecules; recognition of drug targets, chemical structures of drug active substances, synthesis and analysis, mechanisms of action, structure-effect relationships, therapeutic dose determination, toxicological, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic properties and side effects.
  • has the knowledge and application ability about pre-formulation, formulation, laboratory, pilot and industrial scale production, quality assurance, stability, storage, bioavailability, bioequivalence, licensing and patent studies of natural, synthetic and biological pharmaceutical, biotechnological, nano-technological, cosmetic, dermo-cosmetic, phyto-pharmaceutical and radiopharmaceutical products.
  • has the sufficient knowledge about the preparation of magistral medicines, the use and legislation of all original or generic drug preparations and medicinal products.
  • has the theoretical knowledge and application skills on validation with advanced analysis methods including basic and molecular techniques; makes qualitative-quantitative analysis of medicinal and herbal products and biological material, evaluates the results.
  • has the knowledge about the features, usage areas, production, quality assurance, legislation and legal regulations of medical devices.
  • knows the biopharmaceutical and pharmacokinetic properties, pharmacodynamic and toxicological effects of drugs. has knowledge about drug interactions and incompatibilities, monitoring and prevention of undesired drug reactions, as well as drug use in risky groups
  • knows the effects of chemical, biological and radioactive substances, as well as drugs, on biological systems and the environment and the approaches of prevention and treatment.
  • within the framework of rational drug use, has the knowledge and application skills on patient-oriented and individualized pharmaceutical care, clinical pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, pharmacovigilance, cosmetology and phytotherapy.
  • provides education, information and consultancy services to patients and their relatives, colleagues, other healthcare personnel, relevant units in institutions and the society by using current and evidence-based data and information sources. ..assumes duty and responsibility in clinical and non-interventional research.
