Key Learning Outcomes

  • Having sufficient knowledge of mathematics natural sciences and medicine, ability to apply theoretical and practical knowledge in this fields to model and solve engineering problems.
  • Ability to identify, formulate and solve advanced and complex mathematics, science and engineering problems associating with biology and physiology, ability to select and apply appropriate analysis and modelling methods for this purpose.
  • Ability to design a complex system, process, biomedical device, product or material in a way to fulfill requirements under realistic constraints and conditions, and ability to apply modern design methods for this purpose.
  • Ability to improve, develop, select and use techniques and modern devices necessary for analysis and solution of complex problems encountered in biomedical engineering applications, and ability to use information technologies effectively.
  • Ability to design and carry out experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results to examine complex biomedical engineering problems, ability to make measurements on live systems to collect and interpret data from these measurements; ability to solve problems related with interaction between materials and living systems.
  • Ability to work individually and in disciplinary/interdisciplinary teams effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally in Turkish and/or English.
  • Ability to have consciousness of lifelong learning, use sources of knowledge including developments in science and technologies and have a sense of continuous self-improvement.
  • To behave according to ethical principles, have consciousness of professional and ethical responsibility, information about the standards used in engineering applications.
  • Have knowledge about project management and business life applications such as risk management and change management, have consciousness of entreprenuership, innovation and sustainable development.
  • Have knowledge about the universal and social effects of Biomedical Engineering applications on health, environment as well as current affairs, and have awareness of legal consequences for Biomedical Engineering solutions.
