Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.70/4.00 and the phD thesis must be completed. Letter grades and their associated coefficients are as follows; Grade factor: A 4,0 A- 3,7 B+ 3,3 B 3,0 B- 2,7 C+ 2,3 C 2,0 C- 1,7 D+ 1,3 D 1 F1 0 F2 0 K - Y - Z - E - T - 1) (E), (P), (T), (Y) and (Z); Letters grade without coefficient. 2) To be successful for the student in a lesson of master program, the letter grade should be at least ?C?; it should be at least ?B? in Phd program. 3) Students have to repeat the courses that they have failed or they have to take the lessons that are accepted equivalent with failed lessons by Institute Board Directors. 4) ?E? is a temporary grade which is given to the students who can not complete the assignments or take the mid-term exams due to illness or other reasons. Documents related with issue should be given to the department authorization within 3 days after the end of semester. 5) Grade Y is given to the students who are successful at the non-credit courses. 6) Grade P is given to the students who continue their thesis study successfully. 7) Grade Z is given to the students who are not successful at non-credit courses or their thesis study. 8) Grade T is given to the students who have made lateral transfer or who have taken credit courses previously and whose validity is accepted by the Institute according to the Article 18 of this Regulation. T grade is not applied for the students who have made lateral transfer between the same department / master program, master's and non-thesis master's programs and the students who have taken the (T) grade for the courses previously as special students before the enrolled program.
