Specific Arrangements for the Recognition of Prior Learning
A student who is currently enrolled in a graduate program at Başkent University or another institution may apply for transfer upon submitting all required documents. Other conditions for admission through transfer are listed below:
a) Applications are evaluated by the Administrative Boards of Institutes by taking into account the recommendation of the departments. Eligibility for exemption from some course requirements of the programs is decided by taking into account the conditions layed out in Article 17 of this document.
b) In order to be eligible for transfer, a student is required to have completed at least one semester in the program s/he is currently enrolled in and to have a minimum GPA(Grade Point Average) of 2.70 out of 4.00 or 69,66 out of 100 for master's programs; a minimum GPA of 3.20 out of 4.00 or 81,33 out of 100 for doctorate programs. The period spent in the current program will also be transferred.
c) For master's students to transfer, they must apply at the end of the second semester and must have completed at least five courses successfully. Students transferring from a master's program without a thesis to a master's program with thesis, must have a GPA of 3.00 or above. The courses completed will be transferred not as credits but as courses taken and will be indicated in their transcripts as such.
