LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Define standardization, subject, learning objectives and principles, to comprehend the benefits provided by the manufacturer ,the consumer and the economy of standardization.
2) Learn standards and standardization activities in Turkey, the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) and understand the duties.
3) Learn accreditation and certification activities in Turkey, regional and international standardization organizations, national and international metrology and calibration activities and learn about organizations, learn about the CE marking.
4) Learn the definition of quality, quality related concepts , the relationship between the quality concepts ,to understand quality approaches
5) Understand the relationship between quality and productivity, and learn quality costs and risks, to understand the benefits of quality assurance , learn about the concept of quality control.
6) Understand the total quality management and Kaizen.
7) Understand the Quality management systems and the professional standards.

COURSE DEFINITIONStandardizasyonun önemini ve faydalarını kavrayabilme, ulusal ve uluslar arası standardizasyon kuruluşlarını tanıyabilme, kalite ve kalite kavramlarını açıklayabilme, kalite güvencenin önemini kavrayabilme, kalite yönetim sistemlerini kavrayabilme, Kaizen, Toplam Kalite Yönetimi, Sıfır Hata, Tasarım Kalitesi ve CE İşaretlemesi tanımlarını kavrayabilme, mesleki standartları açıklayabilme ve öğrendiklerini iş hayatına uygulayabilme amaçlanmıştır.

1st Week The definition of standardization, standardization issue, the purposes and principles of standardization, the benefits of standardisation to the manufacturer, to consumers and the economy.
2nd Week Turkish Standards Institute and the duties, the certification studies in Turkey, regional and international standardization organizations, professional standards.
3rd Week National and international metrology, calibration studies and organizations.
4th Week Quality and quality concepts, the importance of quality and size, quality development, quality approaches.
5th Week Quality control, Total Quality Control, Company Wide Quality Control approach.
6th Week Design Quality, Quality costs, quality, productivity and zero-defect concepts.
7th Week Kaizen and Total Quality Management.
8th Week Total Quality Management activities and used techniques.
9th Week Quality Assurance System, Quality Management Systems.
10th Week ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.
11th Week ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certification, Contend, Preparation, Application and Quality Manual.
12th Week ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, concepts, purpose, benefits.
13th Week ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 16949 Quality Management Systems similarities and differences.
