At the end of this course, the students; 1) know basic concepts and principles of spiritual counseling, 2) know theological, philosophical, sociological and psychological bases of spiritual counseling, 3) understand the difference of spiritual and religious counseling, 4) realize the power of spirituality in human life 5) recognize the effects of counselor and psychologist?s spiritual process, 6) use his / her awareness for the benefit of the client 7) use basic psychological counseling skills, psychological counseling theories to understand the client's spirituality, 8) have knowledge about ethical and legal issues related to spiritual counseling, 9) be sensitive to the spiritual needs of clients with different cultural and individual characteristics.

COURSE DEFINITION
Basic concepts and principles of spiritual counseling, spirituality, morality, psychological counseling and psychotherapy; spiritual counseling in the context of multicultural counseling, universal values of religion and spirituality; belief, morality and identity development; religious (theological), philosophical, sociological and psychological foundations of spiritual counseling; helping relationships in monotheistic religions and eastern religions; grief, emotion regulation, mindfulness, well-being, altruism, forgiveness, resistance, authenticity in context of spiritual counseling; spiritual measurement, ethics in spiritual counseling.
