At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will be able to identify the types and structures of the given texts, 2) Will be able to identifying the general information in the given texts, 3) Will be able to find out the specific information in the given texts, 4) Will be able to draw conclusions from the opinions and information in the given texts, 5) Will be able to make inferences from the given texts and discussing the opinions within them, 6) Will be able to criticize the opinions and information in the given texts, 7) Will be able to identify the meanings of the words in the given texts, 8) Will be able to draw the meanings of the words from the context in the given texts., 9) Will be able to analyze and write a persuasive essay though control and guided practice, 10) Will be able to analyze the sample activity plans and make an activity plan though guided and free practice, 11) Will be able to analyze the sample book reviews and produce a book review through guided and free practice, 12) Will be able to analyze the sample abstracts and write an abstract through control and guided practice. 13) Will be able to analyze the sample CVs and write CVs through guided and free practice. 14) Will be able to analyze the sample application letters and write an application letter guided and free practice.

COURSE DEFINITION
This course requires students to perceive a written text in the area in order to understand its contents. The texts specifically selected are referred to: Literal comprehension, inferential comprehension, critical or evaluative and appreciative comprehension; and the writing skills are developed through the texts. Students also analyze and produce different types of writing (e.g. controlled, guided, free). The use of spelling and punctuation conventions as well as non-alphabetic symbol use will be practiced as well.
