LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) will be able to associate their knowledge regarding interpreting and note-taking techniques gained during previous courses with consecutive interpreting techniques.
2) will improve translation-oriented memory and retention skills.
3) will enhance their skills pertaining to both method of consecutive interpreting and terminology knowledge by practicing on speeches about various topics.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course deals with principles of consecutive translation and aims to enhance students? skills in developing the basic vocabulary in a variety of subjects through the study of authentic conference texts. The course also includes exercises on special notetaking and memory techniques that enable students to render passages as long as 6-8 minutes faithfully and accurately.
