LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) will be able to associate their knowledge regarding interpreting and note-taking techniques gained during previous courses with consecutive interpreting techniques. 2) will improve translation-oriented memory and retention skills. 3) will enhance their skills pertaining to both method of consecutive interpreting and terminology knowledge by practicing on speeches about various topics.

COURSE DEFINITION | This course deals with principles of consecutive translation and aims to enhance students? skills in developing the basic vocabulary in a variety of subjects through the study of authentic conference texts. The course also includes exercises on special notetaking and memory techniques that enable students to render passages as long as 6-8 minutes faithfully and accurately. |
