At the end of this course, the students; 1) Drug design and its steps, 2) Methods ort he optimization of lead compound by molecular modification techniques, 3) The effect of physicochemical properties of drugs and drug-receptor interactions, 4) Biotransformation, 5) General anesthetics, sedatives and hypnotics, tranquilizers, neuroleptics, anticonvulsant drugs, CNS-acting muscle relaxant drugs, and analgesic drugs.

Introduction to pharmaceutical chemistry and basic concepts, biotransformations, central nervous system drugs, general anesthetics, sedatif-hypnotices, tranquilizers, neuroleptics, central acting spasmolytics, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, local anesthetics, non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs, narcotic analgesics.
