At the end of this course, the students; 1) Know practically the importance and preparation of plant excursions,the importance of herbarium and sample preparation and protection in herbarium 2) have the ability of differentiating medicinal plants and their crude drugs using morphological properties scientifically. 3) expert in using guide books for determining plant families, genus and species; identify medicinal plants which are important in pharmacy in nature.

COURSE DEFINITION
This course practically teaches the morphological and anatomical features of medicinal plants, family determinations and preparation of herbarium specimens for the scientific identification of herbal resources used to obtain drug raw materials or active substances or giving drugs. Topics include excursion trips, naming of medicinal plants, definition of morphological features, preparation and storage of herbicides, and general concepts of identification of important plants in pharmacy: Root, stem, metamorphosis, leaf, flower, fruit and examination; Diagnosis of medicinal plants: family designations of important plants in pharmacy and Turkish flora.
