At the end of this course, the students; 1) Knows the concepts and theories of crisis and crisis counseling. 2) Evaluates the crisis and related processes within different development periods. 3) Discusses individual, family and social characteristics as cause, result and process within the scope of crisis experiences and crisis counseling. 4) Crisis intervention, evaluates crisis counseling processes by considering their intervening and preventive qualities. 5) Knows the methods of crisis counseling and how to approach individuals experiencing crisis according to different crisis characteristics. 6) Knows the qualifications and competencies that the psychological counselor should have regarding crisis counseling and is willing to question and develop himself within the scope of these features. 7) Knows professional ethical and legal requirements in crisis and crisis intervention processes.

The nature and theories of crises, awareness for indepth understanding for crises; multidisciplinary solutions to crises, emergencies, or disasters; cognitive, affective, behavioral, and neurological effects associated with trauma; brief, intermediate and long-term approaches; assessment strategies for clients in crisis and principles of crises intervention processes.
