COURSE DEFINITION
Information design refers to the set of arrangements made to convey information through visual means. With the information design, it is aimed to present the right information to the right person at the right time. Information design products are needed in all areas of social life; because these products work to prevent the deterioration of social harmony by providing benefits in many different areas, from where and how people should be treated, to finding a place and direction. Therefore, information design products have the purpose of carrying and transmitting information as well as containing design elements. Therefore, products should be both clear and understandable and aesthetically pleasing.
The aim of the course is to inform the students about the conceptual and historical background and importance of information design and to show how they can be creative and productive in the context of visual communication design in this field.
Students will have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge with two separate projects they will prepare and will gain experience in the field of information design.
