COURSE DEFINITION
This course critically examines how the global and technological transformations of the 21st century influence artistic expression and production. Students will investigate the relationship between art and rapidly changing social, political, and environmental contexts. The core focus areas of the course include new media arts, digital aesthetics, the role of artificial intelligence in creativity, bio-art, and sustainability-based practices. Furthermore, trends such as the globalization of the art market, the rise of biennials, and the use of art as a tool for activism and social engagement will be analyzed. The goal is to enable students to become multidimensional thinkers, art viewers, and producers who can interpret contemporary artworks not just through historical accumulation, but through the dynamics of our "post-digital" age.
