COURSE DEFINITIONThis course introduces quality and quality variation, total quality, quality assurrance (ISO 9000 etc.), data analysis and problem solving, tolerances and spesifications, statistical process control, acceptence planning, quality costs, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), QFD (Quality Function Deployment), benchmarking and strategic management topics.

2nd Week Quality costs.
3rd Week Taguchi quality loss functions.
4th Week Problem solving techniques for control and improvement
5th Week Control charts for variables.
6th Week Control charts for attributes.
7th Week Applications of MINITAB for quality control I.
8th Week Midterm.
9th Week Process capability analysis.
10th Week Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Quality Function Deployment (QFD).
11th Week Acceptance sampling and operating characteristic (OC) curve.
12th Week Reliability and system reliability.
13th Week Applications of MINITAB for quality control II.
