LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Have an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
2) Have an ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic
3) Design the experiments using the MINITAB package program to get results and to interpret
MODE OF DELIVERYFace to face
PRE-REQUISITES OF THE COURSENo
RECOMMENDED OPTIONAL PROGRAMME COMPONENTStatistical Analysis and Stochastic Processes
COURSE DEFINITIONIn this course, statistical decision theory, multiple regression, single and bidirectional models, factorial model, distribution free-inference, 2k designs, and quality by design are covered. Students who complete this course will achieve basic skills necessary to design and apply statistical methods in areas, e.g. product development, productivity and total quality management, which are closely related to the industrial engineering profession.
