At the end of this course, the students; 1) Comprehends the distinctions between ethics, morality and law. 2) Understands professional ethics and the structural elements that determine ethics. 3) Evaluates methods such as accountability and ombudsman. 4) Examines and resolves ethical issues in the media, which are always discussed in the field. 5) Understands the need to respect human dignity, fundamental rights and freedoms.

COURSE DEFINITION
It is aimed to teach the definition of ethics, its development and the rules to be followed professionally and problematic issues that may be encountered. The scope of the course includes definitions of ethics, the relationship between ethics/morality/law, approaches to communication ethics, private life, material relations with news sources, problems related to discrimination in TV journalism, how new communication technologies affect journalism, responsibilities of the media in crisis reporting, during election campaigns criticisms of the media, image and ethics, tabloid journalism, accountability and regulation of journalism.
