At the end of this course, the students; 1) Defines the concept of new media and comprehends its features and functions. 2) Explain the ethical and legal responsibilities of new media. 3) Comprehends the developments in the emergence of new media in the historical process. 4) Recognizes social media networks and has the ability to develop projects through these networks. 5) Develops a critical perspective on the effects of new media contents. 6) Develops an aesthetic perspective on media content and uses new media competently.

COURSE DEFINITION | The aim of the new media course is to introduce the students to the communication environments that emerged with globalization. With the development of technology, new communication tools have emerged that eliminate the concepts of time and space. Within the scope of the course, it is aimed to introduce these tools, to transfer their features, functions, historical development, differences with traditional media, and social media networks to the students. |
