LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Develop theoretical and critical perspective on novel.
2) Analyze multi-dimensional structure of a novel by using close reading.
3) Recognize major novelists and their position in literary history.
4) Interpret Turkish novels with a text-based approach.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course focuses on the history of Turkish novel. The emergence and the features of the genre as well as theory of the novel and its sub-genres will be discussed.
