At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learn the historical development and periods of Turkic languages. 2) Study on Turkic world and languages, literatures, cultures of Turkic peoples. 3) Comprehend basic linguistic features of contemporary Turkic languages. 4) Read Turkic language texts written in Arabic, Cyrillic and Latin alphabets.

In this course, texts to be selected from the Turkic languages in the Southwest, Northwest and Eastern area from perspectives of diachronic and synchronic linguistics will be examined.
