LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Understand timeline of health biotechnology, market, projections, products, and fundamentals of modern biotechnology.
2) Principles of bioprocess and bioreactors, and cell-based productions.
3) Understand fundamentals of vaccine production, classical and recombinant pharmaceutical applications and products of health biotechnology, and discuss recent studies.
4) Understand drug release systems and their basic principles, and discuss recent studies.
5) Understand and discuss global impact of biotechnology on society, legal regulations and patenting, and ethical and safety issues in health biotechnology.
