At the end of this course, the students; 1) Define and make sense of communication. 2) Knows the functioning and functions of communication. 3) Knows all aspects of communication from communication with himself to international communication. 4) Know the characteristics, positive and negative aspects of mass media and some approaches about mass communication. 5) Acquires effective communication skills in public sphere.

COURSE DEFINITION
Basic elements and functions of communication, Lasswell and Shannon Weaver model, structural and contextual features of communication, communication with the person, communication between groups and groups, international communication; public communication such as public communication will be taught. Fundamentals of communication, communication process and types of communication are also taught through agenda setting, information gap and silence spiral models.
