1) Will be able to define and interpret the notions of communication, mass communication, mass media, media literacy,
2) Will be able to compare negative and positive effects of mass media on modern societies,
3) Will be able to develop projects to point out the importance of media litearcy in social life.

COURSE DEFINITIONText and text types (article, adress, advertisement text, report, regulations, mail etc.) used in mass media such as newspaper, magazine are examined in terms of syntax, lexiaology and semantics. Turkish used in verbal and written mass media is taken up in terms of logical mistakes, syntax, vocabulary, grammer, text linguistics, semantics etc.

13th Week The bad and the good effects of mass media on turkish instruction
