Key Learning Outcomes

  • Makes comprehensive and scientific evaluations about the rules of Turkish as a mother tongue, its functioning, communication skills, the characteristics of the Turkish language in various periods and the works written in these periods.
  • Designing course contents to support students' cognitive, affective and psychomotor development, taking into account the approaches, methods and techniques specific to the field of Turkish teaching, as well as assessment, evaluation and lesson planning processes.
  • Defining the achievements related to the subject area taught to the target group of secondary school students and other groups with different characteristics (combined classes, disadvantaged groups, non-native Turkish speakers, bilinguals, people from cognate and related communities, etc.) and teaching in accordance with practices and designs that prioritize teaching principles and 21st century skills.
  • Evaluating scientific studies with high validity on issues and general problems related to the field of Turkish teaching, making inferences from these studies, developing solution strategies individually or in a team for the problems encountered based on the results of scientific studies.
  • Critical approach to the knowledge and skills acquired in the field of Turkish teaching; detecting and correcting deficiencies; have the ability to direct their own learning and perpetuate it as a life skill.
  • Being able to be defended against the problems encountered in the field of Turkish teaching, suggesting high-valid research questions, planning the research, collecting and analyzing data and developing solutions to the problems based on the results, producing projects.
  • Communicating effectively in accordance with cultural and universal values by using technology, Turkish or at least one foreign language when necessary, in lectures, presentations, and interaction with different groups and individuals.
  • Making practices based on social, scientific, cultural and ethical values (social rights, social justice, etc.) by considering sensitivities such as environmental protection, occupational health and safety in studies related to Turkish teaching.
  • Selecting or developing measurement tools that are suitable for the field of Turkish teaching and will provide effective feedback; apply them in classroom and extracurricular learning environments.
  • To design and conduct individual and group studies for the protection of national, spiritual and universal values and cultural diversity based on interdisciplinarity in Turkish teaching and to contribute to such studies.
