COURSE DEFINITIONThe development of the concept of traditional theater since Aristotle. Basic concepts of theater and drama. Game concept. Psychological foundations of the game and the game-education relationship. Dramatization and dramatization techniques. Improvisation exercises. Determinations regarding theater language. Dramaturgy, interpretation and staging. Introducing the concept and studies of creative drama. Creative drama techniques. Ways and practices to benefit from creative drama studies in Turkish education.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week Week 1: Introduction to the course, introduction of the course syllabus, birth and development of the concept of theater, basic concepts about theater and drama.
2nd Week Week 2: Theatre, drama, creative drama, staging techniques in terms of education and training.
3rd Week Week 3: Staging techniques, game concept; Psychological foundations of the game and game-education relationship, gamification techniques and Turkish teaching. The place of theater/drama in Turkish education, Theater texts, formal drama, improvisation.
4th Week Week 4: Drama and main techniques in Turkish education, creating drama activities in Turkish education (participative leadership, sideline guidance).
5th Week Week 5: Creating and implementing drama activities in Turkish education (participative leadership, sideline guidance), Drama and main techniques in Turkish education, creating drama activities in Turkish education (drama with visuals/frozen image, private property).
