At the end of this course, the students; 1) Explains his/her thoughts on a certain subject 2) Applies speaking methods and techniques 3) Can develop prepared and unprepared speaking skills appropriate to the environment and situation. 4) Organizes speaking activities appropriate to grade level
The aim of this course is to ensure that prospective teachers know the basic concepts of speaking and speech education; To enable them to evaluate the suitability of the achievements and activities related to speaking skills in the Turkish Course Curriculum and to design activities to improve speaking skills.
The general content of the course: Basic information about speech education, physical and cognitive elements of speech; speech-memory-vocabulary relationship and body language; production of prosodic features (stress, tone, melody, etc.) in speech; types of speech, oral expression (argumentative/persuasive, informative, aesthetic speech, etc.) and conversation; educational environments for speaking skills; speaking methods and techniques; Measuring and evaluating speaking skills, designing speaking activities

An overview of speaking education in Turkish education programs / Achievements and activities for speaking skills in the Turkish Lesson Curriculum / A critical look at speaking education practices in the Turkish Lesson Curriculum. The relationship of speech to other language skills (listening, reading and writing).
