LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Explain how disaster situations can affect children during childhood 2) Explains emergency response methods to childhood children and their families in disaster situations. 3) Explains skills in using educational strategies when working with childhood children in disaster areas. 4) Knows ways to work in coordination with other disciplines within the framework of his/her professional field in disaster situations. 5) Defines crisis management and problem solving skills needed in disaster situations 6) Knows how to use strategies to protect and strengthen oneself from risks while fulfilling one's responsibilities in disaster situations.

COURSE DEFINITION | This course covers the issues to be addressed for children and their families who are directly or indirectly faced with natural disasters. Creating safe areas for children in disaster areas, approaches to psychological first aid work for children, effects of children's development due to disasters and studies to support development, emotional and behavioral problems that occur in children after disasters and treatment studies for children, principles of sustainable education support studies in disaster areas. and practices include planning and carrying out studies with family participation in disaster areas, support work for educators working in disaster areas, coping with emerging problems and crisis management, and coordination studies with different disciplines working in disaster areas. |
