At the end of this course, the students; 1) Describes scale development and translation/adaptation processes, 2) Makes operational definitions of psychological constructs measured in their field, 3) Summarizes and interprets the scale scores with appropriate statistical methods, 4) Analyzes and interprets test and item scores using appropriate statistical methods, 5) Evaluates the scales used in their field in terms of validity and reliability.

COURSE DEFINITION
The aim of this course is for students to develop basic knowledge and concepts about scale development and the steps to be followed in the translation and adaptation of scales developed in different cultures and languages. At the end of the course, students are expected to evaluate the scales used in their fields in terms of validity and reliability. They are expected to be able to make operational definitions of the variables discussed in the field of profession, to write items in accordance with the operational definition by taking into account the item writing rules, to distinguish how and for what purpose the scores obtained from the scales can be interpreted, and to interpret them by performing tests and item analyzes through appropriate statistical package programs.
