LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Recognize the history of Turkish education and list it chronologically.
2) Discuss the effects of political, economic and cultural elements on education in the history of Turkish education.
3) Compares the pre-Islamic Turkish education system with the post-Islamic system.
4) Understands the meaning of education and training, the scope and content of the course.

COURSE DEFINITIONPre-Islamic and post-Islamic processes of Turkish education history, Compensation in the Ottoman Empire, I. Constitutional Monarchy, Absolutism and II. Educational processes during the Constitutional Monarchy period, changes and reforms in the education system during the Republic period, Atatürk's view of education and Village Institutes will be examined.

1st Week Turkish education history purpose, basic sources
2nd Week Education in Huns, Gokturks and Uyghurs before the Turks became Muslims
3rd Week After the Turks became Muslims, the Inner Asian Muslim Turks received education in the Karakhanids.
4th Week Seljuks, education in Anatolian Principalities
5th Week Ottomans: Education in the period from its foundation to the first modernization movement (1299-1776).
6th Week Education in the Ottomans, the First Reform Movement Period in Education (1776-1839)
7th Week Education in the Compensation Period (1839-1876)
8th Week Midterm
9th Week Education in the Constitutional Monarchy Period (1876-1878) Education in the Absolutism Period (1878-1908)
10th Week II. Education during the Constitutional Monarchy Period (1908-1918)
11th Week Education during the War of Independence Period (1919-1922)
12th Week Education in the Republic of Türkiye (1923 and after), Ataturk and education
13th Week Teacher Training Policy in the Republican Era
14th Week The Place and Effects of Village Institutes in Turkish Education History
