At the end of this course, the students; 1) Describes the basic concepts of measurement and evaluation, 2) Evaluates the operational definitions of the measurement tools used in the field and their adequacy for the intended purpose, 3) Writes questions according to different item types in the measurement tools used in the discipline, 4) Interprets the measurement tools used in the field and the test and item statistics collected from these tools, 5) Decides in appropriately with the principles of evaluation when interpreting about individuals according to measurement results, 6) Evaluates the reliability and validity of scales used in Türkiye.

COURSE DEFINITION
This course mainly focuses on the technical features of measurement tools used in social sciences and the interpretation and evaluation of the scores obtained from the measurement tool. At the end of the course, students will be able to develop the basic concepts of measurement and evaluation, follow the measurement process of a psychological structure, evaluate the technical characteristics of the scores obtained from a scale, understand the rules to be considered when writing items, select different item types by taking into account the characteristics of the information to be collected, within the framework of classical test theory. They are expected to analyze test questions and test scores, and evaluate measurement tools used in their fields, especially in terms of validity and reliability.
