COURSE DEFINITION
In this course provides a social analysis of youth and the changing position of youth in society throughout history. In this course, youth period will be examined not only as a biological period but also as a part of socio-cultural construction process. It will include theoretical and conceptual discussions about youth. Youth period will be sociologically considered through culture, subculture, drug use - addiction, sexuality and health, media and consumption, family, crime and deviation, unemployment, intergenerational relationships/communications, politics, subcultures youth and social participation topics. In this course as well as cross cultural and generational comparisons of adolescence and youth will also be examined.
